Children and adolescents

It is vital to understand that play is a child’s natural way of self-expression. Children do not have all the coping tools we do as adults and cannot always “use their words,” especially when dysregulated. I will guide you as the parent in the sessions to help with co-regulating your child and teaching powerful tools to begin addressing cognitive, behavioral, and emotional challenges. As children get older, it is developmentally appropriate for them to seek higher levels of autonomy. Therefore, we will collaborate and consider on an individual basis when it is appropriate for your child or adolescent to meet individually with me.
